SVQ Assessor

21 hours per week, Working hours are flexible, Monday - Friday (during college opening hours)
Temporary up to 30 July 2026
£31,776 – £34,331 pro rata / £17.41 - £18.81 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

UHI Orkney is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above post.

The position involves assessing, observing and the reviewing of candidates in the workplace, who are undertaking SVQ levels 2, 3 & 4 within UHI Orkney’s Health, Social Care Department.

Applicants must be educated to HNC/SVQ 3 or equivalent level in a relevant area, and hold an Assessor Award A1, or be willing to work towards this. Considerable experience of working in a variety of health and/or social care settings and an in-depth knowledge of current practice is required.

Knowledge of the content, structure, and assessment of SVQs is desirable. However, full training will be provided.

This post is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
