Hourly Rate as follows:

NMW1 £4.62 (age 16-17)

NMW 2 £6.56 (age 18-20)

NMW 3 £8.36 (age 21 -22)

NMW 4, £8.91 (age 23+)

Salary: *£8,431.49 - £16,260.73 per annum *dependant on age.

Contract Duration: Temporary until 01 December 2023.

Role Purpose

As this is an apprentice post the job holder may be required to work in various areas and departments throughout the organisation to develop skills, knowledge and experience in all aspects of Housing Services and Home Energy Efficiency. This will be via on the job training and formal training sessions to establish knowledge and understanding.

As part of the apprenticeship you will be required to engage with a training provider to obtain the desired qualification of a Business Administration at SCQF Level 6 and a City and Guilds Energy Awareness qualification and have regular meetings with the supervisor and/or assessor. During Year 2 of the apprenticeship there will also be the option to undertake a CIH level 2 qualification in Housing Practice.

Modern Apprenticeships (MA) offer new entrants to the labour market the chance of paid employment combined with the opportunity to undertake training relevant to the occupational area. This includes the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications that help kick-start a career without having to study full-time. New entrants include school and college leavers, those with no previous work experience and/or vocational qualifications.

Where this is a requirement for the successful candidate to work from home as part of the role  you will be provided with the necessary IT equipment by the Council, however, you will be responsible for the provision of any required furniture.

Qualifications relevant to the post 

In accordance with Scottish Borders Councils priorities, you will need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the Apprenticeship) to qualify for this position.
