Role Purpose

We are looking for an enthusiastic social work assistant, to join a busy children and families social work team based in Duns. The role includes supporting children and families through direct work; supporting social workers with assessments; supervising contacts between looked after children and their parents, siblings and other relatives; as well as other tasks. You may carry a caseload and will need to work to progress plans to improve the welfare and wellbeing of children and young people. 

Where this is a requirement for the successful candidate to work from home as part of the role  you will be provided with the necessary IT equipment by the Council, however, you will be responsible for the provision of any required furniture.

Essential

HNC/SVQ 3 in Social Care, Child Care and Education OR considerable experience with an undertaking to engage in relevant training.

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.*
