Living in the Scottish Borders

The Borders boasts some of Scotland's finest scenery and there are many great outdoor activities including world class mountain biking, fantastic rugby teams to join or follow, popular walking routes and fishing on the famous River Tweed.

It is not all open fields and rushing rivers though, the towns and villages give the area a real buzz and there are great places to eat and relax, independent shops to visit and several well-known spa hotels within the area.

We’ve also got great transport links, including superb road links to major cities such as Edinburgh and Newcastle, the new Borders Railway between Edinburgh and Tweedbank and good bus connections. Add to this highly attractive property prices and it's not hard to see why the region is a big hit with those commuting to and from Edinburgh as well as those who work here.

Put it all together and it's not hard to see the big appeal of life in the Scottish Borders.
