Job Description

South Lanarkshire Council is an ambitious, high performing organisation with a clear vision and programme of action which is designed to improve the lives and prospects of everyone in South Lanarkshire.

The aim of Social Work Resources is to promote social welfare and provide effective care and support to meet the needs of vulnerable people in South Lanarkshire.

In partnership with community planning partners, voluntary and independent provider organisations, we offer a range of services designed to enable, support, improve and protect the health and social care of people using our services.

Requirements

South Lanarkshire Council have a range of exciting opportunities within the redesigned family support service.  Several family support worker posts have become available following the councils commitment to deliver earlier, more preventative, strengths-based help and support to families.  There are various posts within the newly established, locality based family support hubs. The hubs work closely with colleagues from health, education, third sector organisations and the community to address individual and wider inequalities and vulnerabilities in an attempt to prevent escalation of risk.

Within the role you will be required to respond to a high volume of referrals received from other agencies, the community and individuals who are seeking support.  You must be flexible enough to provide early intervention and additional or intensive family support when required.  The collaborative approach taken within the service requires an ability to network, build relationships and develop an awareness of other resources and services within the locality.
