Working within the Anti-Poverty Service and reporting to the Team Manager, the post holder will lead a team of staff responsible for the administration of benefits and financial support payments.
The postholder should have current or previous experience of leading a team of staff in a performance management environment.
The post requires a level of expertise and working knowledge in financial support payments, Scottish Welfare Fund, School Clothing Grants, EMA, Free School Meal entitlement, including knowledge of customer requirements and legislative processes in relation to Benefits and Council Tax Reduction.
The post holder will be responsible for monitoring financial awards against cash limited budgets and maintaining records for scrutiny by internal and external audit; Scottish Government and the Department for Work and Pensions.
Working to strict timescales, the postholder will be required to have good planning and excellent organisational skills and the ability to priorities workload to meet deadlines.
Good IT skills including the ability to use spreadsheets and major system applications is essential.
