All councils in Scotland have a wide range of excellent training and development programmes. These can include apprenticeships, management development courses, graduate schemes, CPD (continuing professional development) and on-the-job training. Councils encourage everyone to learn new skills that will help individuals both personally and professionally. Much of this training is paid for by the councils, with some part-funded, depending on local policy and individual circumstances.
