Academic Head

Faculty of Digital and Creative Industries

£53,530 per annum

Permanent - 35 hours per week (up to 9 hours teaching)

Base location will be discussed with successful candidates

Anticipated Start Date – October 2022

The Academic Head will support the Director in the leadership, strategic direction and overall management of the Faculty to ensure the portfolio on offer is inclusive, high quality and innovative. Working closely with Academic and Quality Managers, Directors of Faculty and teaching colleagues you will contribute to the realisation of College strategic aims and objectives and take an active role in cross College working.

You will be responsible for overseeing the curriculum areas to ensure student success through effective delivery, guidance and support, commercial activity as well as managing all the resources within that area. You will provide leadership for staff and foster sufficient opportunities for CLPL and development for staff.

You must be educated to Degree level or equivalent qualification, hold a Teaching Qualification and also have experience relating to a subject area within the Faculty.

You should have experience of curriculum design and planning, curriculum delivery, budget management, effective application of national quality standards as well as the innovation and development of successful learning and teaching methodologies. Excellent communication and organisational skills and a strong partnership working ethos are essential, along with effective leadership and a proven track record of management.
