People Services support all HR aspects for the University in addition to supporting organisational development, staff development and equality and diversity. The department are made up of various teams and the People Services Administrative Assistant will play a key role within the departments operational team. The operational team provide advice and support for areas such as casework, resourcing, recruitment and selection as well as staff development.

The People Services administrative assistant is required to provide administrative support and confidential advice across all HR operational activities. The main activities of the role will include processing family friendly requests including flexible working, maternity and paternity as well as being first point of contact for advice on these policies.    A key priority for the role will be the administration of attendance management including but not limited to running and cleansing absence reports, issuing letters, checking and filing self certs and fit notes. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to assist the People Services Advisor with Formal meetings by scheduling, preparing paperwork and attending to take notes.   The role-holder will also undertake cross-team administrative duties within the wider operational team when required.

The successful candidate will have exceptional customer service experience ideally gained from a demanding high paced administrative role. They will have the ability to interpret polices and processes such as absence management, family friendly related policies and any other HR related policies and processes as required. They will be able to work under pressure and prioritise their workload. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have strong attention to detail and the ability to process efficiently and accurately.

This is a hybrid role where the current requirement is a minimum of two days on campus however, there may be a requirement for additional days to be on site to attend meetings and/or training and is subject to change to meet the needs of the business.
