Research Support Librarian

Division: Campus Services – Library Services

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Library Services team within our Learning Resources Centre with responsibility for coordinating the ongoing development and delivery of our open access research support service for the University.

Reporting to the Head of Library Services, you will provide support to researchers and postgraduate research students at all stages of their career as well as informing institutional direction and working closely with the open research sector. You would use your expertise to deliver engaging workshops and training courses to help people develop and enhance their research skills.

You will administer and develop our institutional repositories in line with funder and stakeholder expectations, raising awareness of research data management policy and procedures and advocating good practice.

As an excellent communicator, your will maintain and develop user information, liaise with research centres and the Research and Knowledge Exchange Unit on all aspects of research.

The successful candidate will have a library or related degree qualification. You should have in-depth knowledge of research support and open access publishing. Experience in a similar service environment, preferably in the university research would be advantageous. Demonstrable experience of supporting research repositories and knowledge of library electronic content management and digital services would be desirable. A confident and effective communicator you will be able to demonstrate experience of delivery of training in research resources.
