ABOUT THE JOB

To identify and assess candidate business processes that may be suitable for automation using Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technologies and thereafter design, implement, administer, monitor, support and maintain RPA solutions that will enhance business productivity and maximise efficiency, ensuring that relevant processes function at optimum efficiency, while maintaining the integrity, security and availability of relevant business services.


Undertake a key role in the release of RPA software and automation workflow processes into the Live environment, ensuring coordination of these technologies within the wider Police Scotland ICT landscape.


ABOUT YOU

You will have an understanding of workflow-based logic; experience of Automation tools, such as UIPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere; -roficiency in programming languages, such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python or .NET / VB.NET; basic knowledge of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI); experience with Databases, such as SQL and NoSQL; experience working with APIs / Web Services; experience of working across live ICT operating environment using enterprise scale applications; technical experience of deploying, managing, maintaining, upgrading and testing RPA solutions; and knowledge of data protection legislation and information security protocols.


You will have a degree in related computer science / ICT related discipline and relevant commercial experience. Or, where there is no formal educational experience, extensive relevant technical experience is required.


You will have proven experience in a technical role related to creation of automated business process workflows using RPA.


You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal; the ability to work on your own initiative with limited supervision; and the ability to work under pressure as part of a team with proven skills related to: Team-working and working with customers to elicit and define requirement specifications with strong prioritisation and organisational skills, customer focussed, and strong problem solving and analytical skills.


You will have the ability to design and build logical, efficient, effective business workflows; the ability to switch between tasks quickly and stay in control of problematic situations; the ability to relay technical information to non-technical users and elicit clients' needs; and the ability to use your own initiative and deal with a varied programme of work.


This full time post is temporary for 20 months and will require Security Clearance Vetting. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 0900 – 1700.
