Business Development Lead

We are looking for a creative, confident and experienced individual, ideally with a charitable organisation background, to join us to promote and drive the work of Families Outside as Business Development Lead.

Families Outside is the only national organisation working exclusively on behalf of families affected by imprisonment in Scotland. The organisation exists because the imprisonment of a family member has a negative impact on the social, emotional, financial, and educational development of the remaining family members, leading to disadvantage, exclusion, and the risk of perpetuation of cycles of crime and imprisonment. Our purpose is to improve outcomes for children and families affected by imprisonment so they can live lives free from stigma and disadvantage.

We are now recruiting for a Business Development Lead at a time of growth for our organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to work in collaboration with a small team, working closely with colleagues, and with responsibility for embedding a fundraising strategy to support the charitable aims of Families Outside. The role plays an important part in delivering the aims and objectives of the organisation, ensuring our viability, effectiveness and impact.

With experience in business development or fundraising, income generation, and proven experience of relationship management, you would be able to identify, contact, and develop potential new funding relationships, and manage existing ones. You will be a professional with excellent communication skills and able to set priorities for your own work and for the work of others.
