The Local Government Digital Office

The Local Government Digital Office (LGDO) Local Government Digital Office (LGDO) has been working in partnership to develop best practice, strategic guidance and operational support to Scottish telecare service providers for the planned transition from analogue to digital telecare. Digital telecare offers individuals, families and carers, security and peace of mind. It enables people to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible.

As this work continues to progress, an opportunity has arisen for a Housing Transition Manager to join the Local Government Digital Office to support housing sector telecare service providers through the next phase of the transformational change from analogue to digital telecare.

The Housing Transition Manager role will be fully funded for 2 years by the Scottish Government's TEC Programme and will be hosted by, and work as part of, the Local Government Digital Office. The LGDO contract currently runs to September 2021 and this is under review, alternative hosting arrangements for the post holder have been identified from September 2021 to the end of the fixed term contract, should this be required. The alternative arrangements in place being hosted by the SFHA (Scottish Federation of Housing Associations). 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Housing Transition Manager to play an important part in providing leadership and oversight of a high profile programme of activities, contributing to the vision of integrated Housing, Health and Social Care, making this a reality across Scotland.

The primary focus of the post holder will be to provide leadership and support to housing sector telecare service providers as they modernise services, support person-centred care, improve outcomes and build stronger relationships for digital transformation for the benefit of tenants/customers.

The Housing Transition Manager will be responsible for the day to day relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring consistency in engagement across the business.

They will work closely with a range of staff and management within the LGDO on a day-to-day basis and work with a range of external partners including Scottish Government (including the Technology Enabled Care Programme and Technology Enabled Care in Housing Programme), social landlords and key agencies across housing, health and social care.

They will be a strong team player who has extensive experience in housing, health and social care and can quickly gain the confidence of the sector, peers and senior stakeholders

Strong influencing and negotiating skills are essential to this role.

Interview Date: A competency based interview will take place mid-December. Shortlisted candidates will be advised by email in advance of the interview.

Location: Improvement Service, iHub, Quarrywood Court, Livingston EH54 6AX. Home based with travel throughout Scotland.

Duration of Contract: Until January 2023. Secondments will be considered.

Hours: Standard working week is 36 hours Monday to Friday. Hours can be worked flexibly in agreement with the Line Manager.
