Purpose

The Quality Improvement Manager – In partnership with other services and agencies will play a key role in delivering the development of practice, culture, and systems to improve outcomes for children and young people who are experiencing care, care experienced or on the edges of care. You will provide operational and business intelligence to corporate and operational teams, supporting longer term strategic development as well as being responsive to immediate and urgent priorities. You will be responsible for ensuring high quality, consistent and timely data analysis and reporting services for Kibble which include Open Residential, Community Residential, Early Years and Secure Care.

Through your specific skillset and experience, you will contribute to the development of approaches and systems that deliver across the five pillars of 'The Promise' to children, young people and their families.

The key functions of the role include:

  • To provide a professional, comprehensive Quality Improvement service
  • To provide strategic direction to the Quality function
  • To lead, develop and evaluate existing quality improvement controls to meet, and exceed, registration requirements, current legislation, and the needs of the Kibble Group
  • To provide a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentoring function on all aspects of quality improvement
  • Day to day management of the Quality Improvement Team and Safeguarding Lead

Main Duties

  • To support the improvement and effective monitoring of:
  • Kibble’s mission, vision, and values
  • Quality Improvement Plans
  • Regulatory Inspection Plans
  • Maintenance and improvement of robust systems to ensure the Kibble Group is well prepared for the range of inspection processes it is subject to
  • To promote and support the process of self-evaluation across all departments within Kibble and in participation with external stakeholders, ensuring continuous improvement and the provision of high-quality services for young people.
  • To liaise with young people, their families/main carers, staff, and managers from across the Kibble Group to develop and maintain new systems and procedures to improve quality and achieve continuous improvement in all areas.
  • To carry out audits and compliance testing to ensure that new and existing processes and procedures are operating effectively with appropriate control
  • Work with key multi-agency networks and partners to promote and improve quality practice
  • To ensure robust records are kept and provide returns/performance information and reports as required
  • Management and coordination of advocacy and participation activities, including oversight of Kibble’s Who Cares? Scotland partnership

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Have a strong commitment to the values of the Kibble Group
  • Proven track record of delivering business improvement using a quality improvement approach
  • Expert communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues at all levels
  • A minimum of 2 years previous management experience
  • A degree or equivalent in an associated discipline
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Health and Social Care Standards, Secure Care Pathways and Standards and associated regulatory frameworks
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Care Inspectorate procedures, quality indicators and inspection framework

Desired Criteria

  • Relevant Masters level qualification
  • Understanding of EFQM framework and techniques
  • Experience of additional quality improvement methodologies
