An award-winning company, RTWS are committed to alleviating poverty through delivery of a range of innovative employability and skills services. As an arm’s length external organisation, we have a key role in the delivery of services that support South Lanarkshire Council’s Employability Strategy.

For over 20 years the company has successfully tendered for a variety of welfare to work programmes, securing funding from several sources including Skills Development Scotland and the Department for Work and Pensions as well as grant funding from the Big Lottery and European Structural Funds, to support South Lanarkshire residents and businesses.

The company currently delivers the Scottish Government’s Fair Start Scotland Programme throughout South Lanarkshire and delivers services to young people and adults supported by Scottish Government’s No One Left Behind (NOLB) and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE?

As Employer Services Lead, you will lead, motivate and support the Employer Services Team to deliver individual and team targets whilst actively contributing to overall company priorities and objectives. You will have a key role in driving forward our employer engagement strategy and shaping the employer offer whilst effectively promoting Fair Work Principles, Living Wage Accreditation and Workforce Development.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will drive high levels of customer service and quality standards, encouraging and supporting the team within their roles, whilst working collaboratively with other departments and external partners.The ideal candidate will be target driven, motivated, enthusiastic, an excellent communicator who is able to build strong relationships and meet key performance indicators.

MAIN AIMS

  • Lead the Employer Services Team by motivating and delegating workload to ensure the team works collaboratively to deliver excellent customer service to stakeholders.
  • Lead the team to ensure effective application of processes relating to assessing performance, staff development, managing welfare and ensuring continuous professional development.
  • Lead the team to develop and maintain proactive relationships with external organisations, hosting and attending events suited to the needs of employers and clients.
  • Lead the team to deliver high levels of job sustainability, client, and employer satisfaction.
  • Ensure we are actively promoting RTWS services, Fair Work principles and Real Living Wage Accreditation in accordance with the Scottish Government Agenda and Funding obligations.
  • Actively promote, raise awareness, and influence employers to adapt to meet the needs of specific client groups.
  • Work in collaboration with Operational Team Leaders to ensure our employer engagement strategy targets those furthest removed.

DUTIES

  • Lead the Employer Services Team to work collaboratively, to meet targets and objectives and deliver results and recruitment solutions to employers.
  • Provide effective leadership to the team through regular team meetings, 1-2-1 meetings, appraisals and develop plans as appropriate to facilitate achievement of targets and objectives.
  • Develop and deliver a range of prevocational, vocational, and employer-led training programmes to respond to growth sectors and client needs.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the local labour market.
  • Attend meetings and events to promote and represent the company and service offer.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, national, stakeholder and organisational requirements.
  • Engage with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure that needs and priorities are identified and can be incorporated into operational delivery.
  • Keep up to date with legislation and ensure staff adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Carry out other duties in line with organisational requirements.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential

Have experience of leading a small team or be able to demonstrate leadership skills

Experience working in partnership with statutory organisations, local authorities, businesses, and the 3rd Sector

An understanding of employer needs, training and the Labour Market

Enthusiasm, self-motivated and passionate who possesses good time management skills

Flexibility and resourcefulness to manage the varying demands of the role.

An understanding of performance monitoring and reporting

Committed to excellent customer service and continuous improvement

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to encourage, persuade and motivate

Pro-active and solution focused in response to a changing environment.

Flexible and willing to adapt to meet organisational needs where required.

Good IT skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook

Knowledge of health and safety and legislation

Full driving licence and own transport

Desirable

Understanding of the employability sector and Scottish Government Fair Work Agenda

Knowledge of government funding

Have experience of creating and developing teams and managing those with varying workloads and remit.
