Skills Development Advisor

Permanent - Full Time

Salary: Grade 6 £34,166 - £37,060 per annum (Successful candidates will commence at £34,166 per annum)

We are seeking a well-organised and forward-thinking individual to join the Student Experience Directorate. As the Skills Development Advisor, you will collaborate with staff within the Student Experience Directorate and the wider college to develop and manage a skills development service for disabled students and students who have an additional support need, who require learning support.

This new and exciting role is responsible for designing a service for students that will provide opportunities to develop attributes, skills and academic strategies by developing online and onsite services (web based and face to face opportunities).

The post holder will work closely with the Head of Student Development to design and support the operational activity of the service, facilitating efficient delivery of marketing and communications, information management systems, processes, and procedures.

We are searching for a professional, self-assured, and dependable team member with a background in skills development, someone who has extensive experience supporting individuals with complex needs and who has an in-depth knowledge of all aspects on inclusion.

We require someone who is a team player and can contribute to achieving operational targets. Proficiency in spreadsheet and database management, excellent IT skills, and the ability to manage a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment are essential.

We hope to find a team player with great communication skills, we are looking for someone who enjoys supporting others and understands the importance of reasonable adjustments and accessibility functions. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in community work, a disability related subject or education and have significant experience within a student services function.
