Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to take up the exciting post of Learning Development Tutor.

1 x Permanent role (21 hours) and 1 x Temporary role until 31 July 2026 (Full-time).

The Learning and Development Tutors work as part of the Student Experience department and support students progress throughout their time at college. They deliver and develop structured group tutorial sessions and targeted one-to-one sessions with students. They have a key role in the pastoral support of students and supporting students to achieve their potential.

The Learning Development Tutor is responsible for tutorial delivery, guidance and student support across all curriculum areas. The Learning Development Tutor (LDT) is responsible for the development and delivery of weekly timetabled tutorials, to support the development of essential, employability and transferable skills whilst supporting the students personal progress through the delivery of a 36-week tutorial programme. The Learning Development Tutor will meet students on a one-to-one basis and is responsible for the promotion of student retention through the monitoring of attendance and achievement. Effective partnership working both internally and externally is a key element of the role.

The post holder will have a caseload of students to manage and support.
