<p class="ql-align-justify">This is an exciting opportunity to join the Scottish Parliament Information Centre (SPICe) as a Head of Office. SPICe provides facts, analysis briefings, research, impartial expertise, and news and current affairs to MSPs and their staff as well as Parliament staff.</p>

<p class="ql-align-justify">SPICe is made up of around 50 staff working across the Enquiries and Collections Team and the Research team. The Research team is split in to three units:</p>

<p class="ql-align-justify">&nbsp;·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Brexit, Environmental and Rural Affairs Unit</p>

<p class="ql-align-justify">·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Financial Scrutiny Unit</p>

<p class="ql-align-justify">·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Justice, Health and Social Affairs Unit&nbsp;</p>

<p class="ql-align-justify">As Head of Office you will lead one of these units. You will have advanced information management or research skills, relevant to a subject area devolved to the Parliament.</p>

<p class="ql-align-justify">You will manage a multi-subject team of researchers and information specialists and will be responsible for ensuring the core services of SPICe are delivered.</p>

<p class="ql-align-justify">You will encourage a culture where staff are empowered to deliver high quality work which will enhance the reputation of the Parliament. You will also champion collaborative working with colleagues across the parliamentary service, promoting positive and open communication, as well as our commitment to diversity and inclusion.</p>

<p class="ql-align-justify"><strong><u>About you</u></strong></p>

<p class="ql-align-justify">The successful candidate will be experienced in leading and delivering high quality services in a political setting which is highly scrutinised by the media and public.</p>

<p class="ql-align-justify">You will demonstrate a high level of personal credibility with excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships. A thorough understanding of Scottish public policy frameworks as well as high levels of political and organisational judgement are essential.</p>
