NEW Casual Assistant Retirement Housing with Meals in Linlithgow

We are currently looking for an Assistant Retirement Housing with Meals to work on a casual basis, covering periods of absence for permanent members of staff across the Linlithgow area. The candidate should be available to provide cover at Brae Court.

The Role

You will be responsible for undertaking a range of cleaning duties to ensure that internal communal areas are clean, hygienic and meet the standards expected by our tenants and visitors to the development. You will also assist by preparing the dining room for mealtimes, heating prepared meals and delivering these dishes to tenants. On occasion, the Assistant will be expected to clean vacant flats and/ or external pathways of the development and provide general and emergency assistance to tenants, as required. In addition you will respond to property emergencies, taking appropriate action when the Manager is off duty and providing cover for the development office as required.

Role Requirements

Experience of a similar type of role would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement. You should bring to the role a genuine interest in working with older people, an ability to respond calmly to requests for assistance.

An REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Qualification or equivalent would be desirable. Although relevant experience in a similar post is also desirable, it is not essential as induction and training (e.g. food hygiene) will be provided.

Shifts will be offered on a casual basis to cover planned and emergency leave. Ability to accept shifts at short notice would be desirable, however not essential.
