New Casual Work Opportunity in Dundee

Bield is one of the largest providers of housing and support services to older people in Scotland. We value kindness above all, and at Bield, you will have a unique opportunity to have a positive impact.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual to join our Camperdown Court team in Dundee. Our caring team works to ensure people aged 60 and over have the opportunity to maintain their independence, but take over the worries, such as meals, repairs and looking after the garden.

Our motto is ‘Free to be’ – we strongly believe that older people should be free to make their own choices and be able to live as independently as possible. If you share our values, we’d love for you to join our team and help us on our journey.

The Role:

You will be involved in the preparation and delivery of our flexible meals service to tenants in accordance with food safety and service standards.

You will contribute to the maintenance of a high level of cleanliness within all common parts of the development and provide general and emergency assistance to tenants, as required.

Casual workers support cover requirements for planned and emergency leave. This would be a great opportunity for someone who would like to have more flexibility around their working arrangements and/or gain experience in housing and social care.

Benefits of working with Bield as a casual worker:

- Assistant Retirement Housing with meals hourly rate is GBP 9.90

- We will pay 50% of the cost of your Disclosure check

- Flexible working hours including evenings and weekends

- No obligation to accept shifts so easy to fit in with personal commitments

- Work in a wide variety of housing and care services and roles

- Valuable practical work experience in social and health care sector

Shifts will be offered on a casual basis to cover planned and emergency leave. Ability to accept shifts at short notice would be desirable, however not essential.

Role Requirements include:

- An enthusiasm for providing the very highest standard of care and support, focusing on achieving positive outcomes for our customers.

- A flexible approach and strong team ethos which helps us to exceed our customer expectations every day.

- It is essential that you have an interest in working with older people and an understanding of their needs.

- A REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Qualification would be beneficial.
