About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a caring, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team in Parkhead, Glasgow. The service provides person-centred care and support to 8 individuals with complex care needs, including moving and positioning, and varying hours of support. It is a flexible and customer-led service that meets the needs and preference of the people we support enabling them to live as independently as possible in their own homes as well as providing support to access the community.

This role will focus on the management of medication and supporting with medication administration.

As an Advanced Support Worker you will work as part of a team providing a safe and inspiring environment for the people we support. You will assist them to realise and develop goals identified in their care plan e.g. walking, swimming, attending concerts, football matches and/or theatre. You will also support them with all aspects of daily living including personal care, health related practices including mealtime assistance and administering medication. A degree of physical activity will be involved in providing support to the people receiving support.

Experience of working in a similar environment and supporting people with complex healthcare needs is advantageous. You should possess Level 3 SVQ or the ability and willingness to achieve this qualification within a specified timescale. You should have good interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative and be flexible to meet the needs of the service.

A DRIVING LICENCE FOR THIS ROLE IS PREFERABLE.

About You

With experience working in complex care within a social or health care setting, you will have an upbeat positive manner as well as having a genuine passion for supporting people to become a part of their local and wider community.

You will bring creative ideas and compassion to encourage the people you will be supporting live as independently as possible.

In addition you will be comfortable using basic IT systems that are required within the role - training can be offered to support this area. You will also hold a NVQ/SVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care (Scotland) or Level 4 Diploma in Care (England).
