We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a caring, compassionate and professionally talented Service Leader to join our experienced, established and expanding management team in Aberdeen.

As a Service Leader you will lead and manage a team of 20-25 frontline staff, including an Advanced Support Worker, working across multi-sites to make a real difference to the lives of the 5 people we currently support with learning disabilities, Charge syndrome/Autism, complex behavioural needs, high health care and complex needs e.g. epilepsy, pain management (monitor and manage) and PEG tubes, to live independently in their own homes. Good knowledge and experience of working with this client group in an independent living setting and in the local community is essential. As is previous experience of working across multi-sites and managing services and teams within a social care setting to deliver person centred support within the Positive Behaviour Support Framework. Nurse experience, medical knowledge and/or working collaboratively with the Multi Disciplinary Team is also essential. Experience and/or training in Makaton as an effective communication method is highly advantageous.You must hold a current driving license and access to your own vehicle.

The Service Leader will report to the Regional Manager and will be responsible for the daily management of services and their staff teams. They will be responsible for ensuring staff teams are suitably trained, well supported and supervised, having the tools to carry out their role to the best of their ability. They will also be responsible and accountable for the 24-hour management of the services, ensuring that all aspects of support and service delivery is focused on meeting the needs and preferences of the people we support. This includes having involvement in the creation and auditing of care and support, risk assessments and other safe systems of work.

The successful candidate will have effective communication, leadership, coaching and mentoring skills. They will be responsible for working with both internal and external partners including other healthcare professionals and family members. He or she will also be committed to person-centred planning, supporting positive risk taking and best practice for individual reviews.

This role will involve aspect of overseeing multiple teams and so a flexible and fast paced approach to staff management will be required.

The successful candidate will be required to register with the SSSC if they are not already registered or hold an appropriate registration. They will also be required to have or undertake an SVQ 4 or equivalent qualification to meet the conditions of their registration.
