Are you looking for a rewarding new job where you can make a difference every day?  If you're ready for a job that is more than just your typical 9-5 then look no further!

You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and we'll give you all the training you'll need if you're successful. We'll even put you through your SVQ qualification too!

We're looking for motivated and understanding individuals with a positive attitude to join our busy Community Support service in Airdrie and Coatbridge. We have a range contracts available from 16 and 30 hours per week.

The Role

You will be joining a small, dedicated team of Support Practitioners who focus on maintaining and promoting independence. You will work in a person-centred way to provide support in all aspects of daily living, including cooking and preparing meals, personal care, administering medication and managing personal finances.

You’ll be enthusiastic and take an active interest in their hobbies which may include going to local events, listening to music, going swimming and out for a walk, playing and watching sports and getting involved in arts and crafts along with many more activities. The people we support love trying new things and we'll be looking to you to help identify opportunities for participation and inclusion for the people we support.

As travel will be required throughout North Lanarkshire, it is essential that you hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.

To be a great Support Practitioner, you will be:

  • a naturally empathetic person with a warm, friendly personality
  • able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills
  • able to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with lots of different types of people
  • a problem-solver and able to think on your feet and use your initiative
  • competent in the use of technology to enhance the support you provide
  • a good motivator with a positive, can-do attitude
  • reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the people we support

Shift Patterns

Your normal hours of work will be between 6.00 am and 10.00 pm, Monday to Sunday, and will be a mix of split shifts, shorter shifts and longer blocks of support. Early mornings, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays as part of your rota.

Do you have any questions? To find out more, please contact Lorraine Cunningham on 0797 602 8930.

We're looking to fill these vacancies as soon as possible and reserve the right to close the advert once the post has been filled so don't delay getting your application in to avoid missing out.

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.
