About the role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Deputy CEO will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of Cosgrove and delivering our goals to grow the organisation and deliver innovative service models to effectively respond to the challenges facing the sector.

As a member of the Corporate Management Team, you will collaborate closely with our dedicated team to enhance service delivery, optimise efficiency, and maximise the impact of our programmes. You will also provide strong and positive leadership to staff, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

You will be accountable for our income generation strategy focused on expanding and diversifying our service provision and growing our income streams via fundraising. Within this context you will be responsible for:

· The development and implementation of innovative programmes, partnerships, and campaigning themes to address emerging needs, and enhance service delivery.

· Supported by the Head of Fundraising, play a pivotal role in leading and managing income generation within Cosgrove across a variety of sources – individual donors, corporate partners, trusts and foundations, events, and other initiatives.

You will also work closely with our dedicated Board of Directors to shape the strategy for Cosgrove and provide reports and evidence base to Board members to measure impact and success factors.

The Deputy CEO directly line manages the Head of Fundraising and deputises for the Chief Executive as appropriate. You will have specific accountabilities to the Board of Directors and the responsibility and authority to support the development and transformation of the organisation.

Qualifications and experience

We are seeking a dynamic leader with a proven track record of success at a managerial level in social care or the public sector. The ideal candidate will possess:

- Substantial experience in a senior management role, demonstrating strategic vision, decision making prowess and the ability to inspire and motivate others.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences and build strong partnerships.

- Extensive understanding of the current legislation and policy in Scotland as it relates to child and adult social care and its application as well as the challenges facing the future direction of the sector.

- Knowledge of the principles of person-centred support and a strong commitment to the UNCRC, UNCRDP and a rights-based approach to practice – a strong commitment to person led services.

- Demonstrated experience in advocacy, campaigning and influencing national policy with a deep understanding of policy, processes and decision-making mechanisms.

- Strong financial acumen.

- A collaborative and inclusive leadership style with a passion for fostering a supportive and empowering work environment.
