The Service

Our Glasgow Road service in Perth is a twenty four hour, seven days a week service with a sleepover requirement, providing communal living for young adults similar to that common in student accommodation, but with the security and support required by those in need of it.

The individuals we support have a mild to moderate learning disability, autism spectrum condition, Asperger’s syndrome, and, or global development delay. With our support they are able to access further education, part time work, volunteering and actively engage in a wide range of community activities.

The Role

As a Support Worker you will:

  • Take a person centred approach to maximise involvement and help individuals to achieve a positive outcome in life;
  • Be part of an excellent staff team, which is friendly, supportive and professional, where you will work effectively together to provide the highest level of quality care;
  • Benefit from an approachable and supportive management team that will ensure you have the skills and knowledge to perform your role effectively;
  • Receive further learning and development opportunities as well as specialised training in response to the needs of the service.

You Will

  • Have a positive empathetic approach and be highly motivated and enthusiastic in your role.
  • Have the ability to lone work, and work as part of a team with excellent communication skills.
  • Have the flexibility required in respect to a shift pattern that requires early morning, evening, weekend and sleepover shifts.
  • Hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care or be willing to undertake study to achieve this.
  • Be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.
