Recovery Practitioner - Angus Suicide Prevention & Support Service

The post-holder will have a lead role in the promotion and delivery of a service available to all adults in Angus (16 and over) who experience thoughts of suicide or who may have attempted suicide. Support will also be offered to any family member, carer or friend of adults experiencing suicidal thoughts. Although the Recovery Practitioner will be a part of the wider Penumbra Angus Team, the post-holder will be the only worker within this service.

The post-holder will offer assessment of individual need and provide support and interventions that promote safety, wellbeing and recovery. Information, guidance and signposting regarding suicide prevention will also be provided. People who use the service will be supported to manage suicidal thoughts and access support that is suited to their needs. Support will be provided via telephone, email and face-to-face appointments.
