Are you passionate about supporting young people who are homeless and would like to help them achieve their ambitions and goals? Are you looking to join a team where small changes can make a big difference? If so then we have a great opportunity for you to join Stopover.

Stopover provides support to young people aged 16-25 years who are homeless. This is the perfect time to join the service which is currently developing and looking to the futures. The service supports young people through trauma informed practices and endeavours to ensure their voices are heard.

'The Promise' is that Scotland's children and young people will grow up loved, safe and respected. As a transition mentor you will be expected to embrace this approach to the support you deliver. You will work closely with the young people exploring opportunities for them within employment, education and community integration. Some of the young people we support have experienced severe trauma in their young lives and you will provide guidance and support to ensure they are safe and feel heard.

The role of Transition mentor is supplemented by the service's activity coordinators and in house counsellor.

Stopover is a 24 hour residential support accommodation service with all young people having their own bedsit flat.

Transition mentors work on a rolling 7 week rota which encompasses early, day, late and sleepover shifts. The service is staffed with the minimum of two transition mentors per shift. You will have at least one sleepover shift a week and this is paid at an hourly rate.
