Role

Are you passionate about helping people sustain their recovery? Do you want to be part of a dynamic recovery community?

If so, this is an excellent opportunity to take on a meaningful and rewarding role where your actions will make a difference to people’s lives and to the community. Be part of an amazing team and a vibrant charity that has been supporting and empowering vulnerable adults since 1975.

Recovery Scotland is a charity dedicated to providing a range of recovery focussed services for people affected by addictions. We provide opportunities to help people change their addictive behaviours, engage with recovery communities and fulfil their aspirations.

We are looking to appoint a Recovery Development Worker to provide a range of recovery focussed activities within the Stirling Council – Housing Services and to develop an effective Recovery Peer Mentoring support for individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the community.

You will be passionate and enthusiastic about recovery. If in recovery, we are looking for you to have had a minimum of two year’s stability from problematic substance use or addictive behaviours. You will have a good understanding of the impact that substance use can have on individuals, families and communities and you will be familiar with what works to promote and sustain recovery. An ability to work flexibly and creatively in motivating, supporting and encouraging people in recovery is essential.
