We are at the forefront of utilizing technology to enhance our impact and are seeking an ICT Systems and Network Manager to lead our IT initiatives. Role Summary:

The ICT Systems and Network Manager will oversee all aspects of our information technology systems and network infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure IT operations that support our organization's goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in managing IT resources, implementing cutting-edge solutions, and leading IT projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic IT Planning: Develop and implement a strategic IT plan that aligns with the organization's objectives, incorporating the latest developments in technology.
  • Systems Management: Oversee the administration of our IT systems, including but not limited to, cloud services (e.g. Azure, Microsoft 365), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and Microsoft technology stack; assisting applications teams with enterprise software applications (Carista/Open HR).
  • Network Infrastructure: Manage and optimize our network infrastructure for high availability and security, including LAN, WAN, internet services, firewalls (e.g., FortiGate, Sophos), and wireless technologies. Manage the main Servers (those based at Head Office and our managed co-location data centre).
  • Cybersecurity: Lead cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data. Stay abreast of the latest security threats and countermeasures, implementing tools and policies like endpoint protection (e.g., Sophos), intrusion detection systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
  • Data Management and Backup: Implement robust data management practices, including cloud storage solutions and backup strategies, to safeguard against data loss and ensure business continuity.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to secure the best technology solutions at cost-effective rates. Manage contracts and relationships with IT service providers.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to projects and operations.
  • Project Management: Excellent understanding and experience of Project Management and Project Management methodology.
  • Policy development: Writing and ongoing review of IT policies and procedures

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, CISSP) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in IT systems and network management, preferably within the voluntary sector or a similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of current IT software, hardware, and network best practices, including cloud computing, virtualization, and cybersecurity technologies.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex IT concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
