Cramond Playgroup is a parent-led community playgroup, dedicated to providing high quality, fun and accessible care for children aged between 2 and 5. We are a registered charity and regulated by the Care Inspectorate. We are open during school term time (see below) from 9am – 12 Noon, Monday – Friday. Sessions are run at Cramond Kirk Halls.
The Playgroup term coincides mainly with the City of Edinburgh Council Schools holidays, extra holidays may be given to allow for hall access and to accommodate end of term arrangements.
Cramond Playgroup is a parent led charity. The Committee is made up of Playgroup members who are elected at the AGM, which is usually held at the end of September. The committee are responsible for the running of the Playgroup, the accounts and organising fundraising events.
The Playgroup staff consist of a full-time Practice Manager (Gillian Ross), Senior Practitioner and eight Practitioners/ Support workers. All staff have a wide range of experience of working with children and are themselves parents. The staff work as a team and endeavour to provide a friendly, caring environment for the children and parents alike. They actively encourage and promote positive behaviour and good manners.
Cramond Playgroup have Policies and Procedures relating to all aspects of the running of Cramond Playgroup. In accordance with Care Inspectorate guidelines all are available on request from the Practice Manager.
