Glenbervie Kindergarden, Early Learning and Childcare, Carron.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supervisory Early Years Practitioner to act as lead practitioner in providing high quality learning experiences for children aged 3-5 years at Glenbervie Kindergarden, Carron. The supervisory role also includes ad hoc duties out with the 3-5 playroom.

The nursery at Carron is serving children from any area of the community, the setting makes provision for 59 children aged 0-5 years.

• Our ELC practitioners work closely with the senior leadership team to identify priorities for improvement which are specific to the needs of the children in the nursery.

• Our ELC is set within a housing estate joined with a smaller industrial estate. We deliver a curriculum which strives to meet the needs of all children in the setting and delivers high quality play based pedagogy based around nurturing values. We have high expectations of our staff and children whilst understanding and responding to their developmental stage of learning.

• Our priorities next session will be further developing our planning cycle, transitions, as well as self, social and emotional wellbeing.

• Practitioner enquiry and professional learning are key features of our practice and our Early Years Practitioners adopt a critically reflective approach. Our Supervisory Early Years Practitioner plays an important role leading improvement, modelling good practice and supporting a commitment to continuous professional learning.

• Our Supervisory Early Years Practitioner will work closely to support the staff team in meeting the needs of all children, working with other agencies in line with GIRFEC principles.

You will have a well-developed knowledge and understanding of current national guidance relating to early learning and childcare and will be able to evidence this in your practice. Experience in a senior role where you have lead improvement would be advantageous.

You will hold as a minimum an HNC in Childcare and Education (or equivalent) allowing you to register as a practitioner with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) without conditions. You should be able to demonstrate your commitment to continuous professional development and learning.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.

The position is full time (38.75 hours), full year and is permanent within the private sector, Glenbervie Kindergarden Ltd. Consideration may be given to a four day week.
