Early Years Senior Practitioner

Maxholme Nursery School, based in Bearsden, is hiring a full time Senior Early Years Practitioner to join our team. As a smaller nursery, we aim to create a home-away-from-home atmosphere where children are able to flourish and grow as young individuals.

As part of this role, you will contribute as part of a Management Team to the provision of an excellent Early Learning and Childcare Service for children aged 2.5 – 5 years and their families, working to the principles of the National Care Standards for Early Education and Childcare, abiding by the Code of Practice for Social Service Workers and assisting in the supervision and development of Early Learning and Childcare Practitioners to provide 1140 funded hours.

PROFESSIONAL/ EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

SVQ 4 in Early Learning and Childcare Education or professional qualification that meets the requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) criteria in Early Education and Childcare in the category of Senior practitioner or working towards this qualification.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

• Recent and substantial experience working with children aged 2.5 - 5 years in an Early Year setting
• Relevant experience in a Senior Management Post in the field of Early Learning and Childcare
• Experience of Curriculum for Excellence curricular planning, staff–evaluation and management
• Evidence of involving and working with parents
