Working with the Employability team within our Transitions Services to deliver positive employability opportunities for autistic individuals aged 14-24 years old. Working collaboratively with the young person, their families, PAS staff and volunteers, external partners and employers. The role includes the delivery of our Ready to Work programmes, supporting work experience opportunities and support to access ongoing sustainable employment.

MAIN DUTIES AND TASKS

1. Participate in the planning, preparation, delivery and evaluation of the Ready To Work Programme. The sessions will focus on identifying skills, application forms, CV writing, interview skills which will be linked to the SQA Employability Award.

2. Developing and implementing individual, person centred employability plans for young people

3. Coordinate and manage work experience placements, making sure all health and safety guidelines are adhered to for each placement and liaise with the Developing Young Workforce School Co-ordinators within schools, employers and other agencies.

4. Engage young people in both 1:1 and group activities in a supportive, friendly manner.

5. Develop relationships with employers and external partners, including education colleagues and those from a range of employment services.

6. Build relationships with young people and their families to support them to achieve goals and outcomes to encourage the strengths of each individual and allow young people to participate fully in community life, including at home, in education, employment or in community groups.

7. Undertake a range of administrative tasks to support work with young people including but not limited to; updating client files, monitoring and updating individual plans and contact logs, reporting on Accidents and Incidents and other regulatory requirements including Child Protection.

8. Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers at PAS and from other organisations.

9. Support the delivery of Employability related events and showcases for the service.

10. Attend local and national forums and conferences as required.

11. The post holder may be required to travel to other areas out with Perth City as support is delivered in all geographical areas of Perth & Kinross: mileage/travel costs will be provided to and from our centre in Perth, on such occasions.
