Job Purpose:

Bon Accord Care are currently recruiting for Occupational Therapists in Aberdeen. Aberdeen is a charming city, rich with cultural features and offering a vibrant city scene. It is surrounded by some of the most stunning coastal scenery in the country as well as offering easy access to the countryside.

Bon Accord Care is a fully funded, arm’s length external organisation of Aberdeen City Council. We work in an integrated way with health and social care organisations across the city to support citizens, promote independence and healthy lives, whilst investing in our workforce. We play an instrumental part in supporting people to maintain their health, wellbeing, safety and independence with a focus on self-management and the provision of equipment and adaptations.

The values of respect, integrity, accountability, and teamwork are important to us. They underpin our day-to-day service delivery and development, helping us ‘make a difference’ in the lives of those we support and their families, and for our staff.

Our Occupational Therapists are based within GP practices/clinics and you will be part of a friendly team with excellent peer support and leadership from our senior occupational therapy staff. We have a robust culture of supervision and mentoring, and you will have good access to learning opportunities to support practice development.

We welcome applications from registered OTs who are looking for a new and exciting opportunity, along with those who are about to qualify and those who are considering a return to practice.

Newly qualified occupational therapists are offered a structured programme of learning and development in their first year. We can arrange interviews immediately with a provisional offer made subject to registration with HCPC. For those made a provisional offer there is the opportunity to work as an occupational therapy assistant on our support pool prior to obtaining registration.

Return to practice occupational therapists can be supported to regain their registration with HCPC and we welcome further discussion on how we can facilitate this. We can also provide you with the opportunity to speak to therapists who have recently achieved their re-registration with us.

We also welcome discussion or applications from occupational therapists working in other areas who would like to gain experience working in the community.

You will be provided with IT equipment to promote flexible working and other benefits on offer are:

  • Full and part time hours available
  • 28 Days holiday per year and 7 public holidays
  • Access to the local government pension scheme
  • Learning, development, and career opportunities
  • Relocation allowance subject to eligibility criteria
