Job Description
Aberdeenshire Council Community Learning and Development (CLD) Service are looking to recruit 2 x qualified CLD Workers to promote, develop and deliver local learning and development opportunities in line with data driven identified need and national priorities. Successful candidates will have a person-centred approach, be well organised, able to engage with communities at all levels and show strong leadership qualities.

The key post duties of a CLD Worker are to deliver and co-ordinate adult learning and community development opportunities in line with Council priorities. Focussing on literacies, family learning and accreditation you will have a strong commitment to working within communities to address issues of inequality. You will have experience in facilitating community engagement and in supporting new community organisations to form whilst developing increasing participation and representation in decision making processes.
These posts may require some irregular and unsocial hours, including working weekends. You must hold a current valid driving licence and have access to a car. There is a responsibility for the post holders to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and Aberdeenshire Council. This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
