Job Description

We are looking for experienced and innovate EYPs to join our Early Years team. The role of the Excellence and Equity Lead Practitioner is a unique role in targeted areas across Aberdeenshire.  EELs will be Responsible for leading, planning, developing and co-ordinating interventions using a high level of expertise to pre-school children and their families who face the greatest disadvantages and where additional support will assist in closing the attainment gap.

With an excellent working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence and experience of working with parents and families; you will observe and interact with children on an individual basis, in groups and with their families to develop plans and interventions to address attainment. 

For Internal applicants a 23 month secondment is available.

A full, clean driving licence is required, as the role is peripatetic and will involve a minimal amount of travel across the CSN (cluster).

You must be willing to undertake and complete a BA in Childhood Practice or PDA at Level 9 within 5 years of starting in the role.  Study will be undertaken in your own time and may involve 8 to 10 hours study per week.

This is a Children’s Service Network (CSN) post.  Initially you will be based at Banff School Nursery, however you will be working in a peripatetic role across other ELC settings in the Banff CSN.  The successful candidate will be employed on a 52.18 week per year contract.

This position is subject to Local Government terms and Conditions.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality and service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service of the organisation.

This post is regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 6 months of employment.
