Job Description
Live Life Aberdeenshire has an exciting opportunity for an experienced museums professional on a full-time basis for a period of 18 months.
The main purpose of the Museum Curator role during this time will be to support and deliver on the Council’s ambitious multi-million-pound plans in Peterhead to create a museum for Aberdeenshire. The focus will be on the creation of high quality and engaging exhibitions and displays, supported by participatory outreach with local communities and visitors. As a key member of the team, you will also be involved with developing temporary exhibits at Aberdeenshire Farming Museum.
You will be responsible for line managing three museums staff and will supervise work placement students and volunteers. You will report directly to the Museums Development Co-ordinator. Your work base will be at the Discovery Centre at Museums HQ in Mintlaw.
Secondment opportunities will be considered based on the advertised salary, subject to candidates having the mutual consent of their current employer.
