Job Description

The Shaping Places for Wellbeing programme is a delivery partnership between the Improvement Service (IS) and Public Health Scotland (PHS), funded and supported by The Health Foundation and Scottish Government, with support from COSLA.

The overall aim of the Shaping Places for Wellbeing programme is to improve Scotland’s wellbeing by reducing the significant inequality in the health of its people while addressing the health of our planet.  The Programme will improve the Social Determinants of Health, which can be described as, the impact on wellbeing of the places where we live, work and relax.

Supporting Aberdeenshire Council, NHS Grampian, HSCP and their partners to work and plan together, along with communities, the programme will establish new ways of working across national and local, and sectoral and disciplinary boundaries. We see this as system change.

With action anchored in promoting delivery of the s/consultancy-and-support/planning-for-place-programme/place-and-wellbeing-outcomes">Place and Wellbeing Outcomes, the programme will support long term, preventative interventions in our places to ensure the places in which people live, work and relax are enabling their health and wellbeing.

To reduce inequalities the programme needs to ensure actions and decisions about a place are driven by what everyone in that community needs from their place to enable them to thrive. We describe this as a place-based approach. This, is where the role of Community Link Lead comes in.  The purpose of the Community Link Lead role is to support the delivery of the programme in the Fraserburgh community. The Community Link Lead will act as the link to the programme and the Fraserburgh community, third sector organisations and community groups.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Location & Work Pattern: The base location for this position is negotiable
