We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our busy Community Development team at Argyll and Bute Council for 3 days per week on a 12 month contract. The post is flexible within Argyll and Bute, with the main activity in Oban and Lochgilphead.

The post-holder will deliver a series of actions building on the previous Gaelic work in the Council through working closely with the Argyll Gaelic Partnership and will deliver the project, ‘Celebrating and Increasing the Use of Gaelic in Argyll and Bute’. This is a continuation of the Gaelic Development Worker role hosted by Argyll and Bute Council.

This exciting role involves the development of newly emerged Gaelic Community Hubs, supporting them to strengthen their capacity and increase uptake of membership. The post holder will promote and celebrate Gaelic projects as well as contribute to the work of the wider Community Planning and Development team.

The role is also responsible for promoting the Argyll and Bute Gaelic Language Plan and contributing to the development and delivery of the Gaelic Gathering in Spring 2024. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team, we look forward to receiving applications from interested applicants. Fluency in written and spoken Gaelic is desirable.
