Argyll and Bute Council are recruiting a social worker/MHO post within the Cowal area.  We welcome applications from suitably qualified and enthusiastic individuals who are looking for an exciting opportunity to join our integrated CMHT’s working across our beautiful rural locality.

If a qualified MHO the post holder will be required to undertake statutory MHO duties under mental health, incapacity and criminal justice legislation. Additionally they will undertake some care management and the council officer role for people with mental ill-health. If a qualified social worker you would undertake the care management and council officer role with the aim to train as a Mental Health Officer.

Within the locality we work closely alongside our nursing/consultant colleagues who provide inpatient care and treatment on our local psychiatric ward.  The post holder will also be expected to liaise effectively with our community colleagues who provide Adult, Addictions and LD services and various community agencies and third sector groups.

Argyll and Bute has a team of supportive MHO’s throughout the county and there is a commitment to ensuring increasing opportunity for professional development, as an MHO, within the post.
