liveArgyll is a charity that operates leisure and sport facilities, libraries, halls and community centres across Argyll and Bute.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of liveArgyll Assistant (Cleaner) to join the team in the new Helensburgh Leisure Centre. 

We are seeking an individual with energy, drive and passion to join our operations team. As a cleaner you will be required to work as part of a team. You will be stationed at Helensburgh Leisure Centre, however you may be required to work flexibly between all venues within the Helensburgh and Lomond geographic area.

You will provide a helpful and friendly service to customers by ensuring safe, accessible and clean facilities are maintained at all times. Further tasks may include but not exclusive to; facility preparation, cleaning and housekeeping, setting up/dismantling equipment, receiving deliveries, assisting and carrying out venue tours, overseeing general safety and behaviour of public and contractors, carrying out emergency evacuation procedures & safety checking, opening and closing venues safely & responsibly. 

There may also be the opportunity to be upskilled in reception to undertake such tasks as answering the telephone, selling memberships, taking bookings on the management system, dealing with general customer enquiries, etc.

To be successful in this role you have the following skills and experience:

  • Essential - Ability to work flexibly including early shift, back shift, weekends and public holidays
  • Desirable - Manual Handling, COSHH, H&S Training, First Aid training
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and hosting skills
  • Organisational ability
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Good communication skills

The working hours for this post will be Monday & Tuesday 6pm-10pm and Saturday & Sunday 3pm-6pm.
