Salary: £42,717 - £50,550 per year
Hours: 36 per week (see flexible work arrangements)

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Lead Officer for Adult Protection to support the partner agencies - City of Edinburgh Council, NHS Lothian, Police Scotland – in their strategic delivery of Adult Protection work.
This strategic position offers the successful candidate a central role in shaping and supporting the work of the Adult Protection Committee.

The Adult Protection Lead Officer is responsible for providing professional support to the Adult Protection Committee, ensuring that its core responsibilities and key objectives are effectively discharged, under the direction and leadership of the Chair of the Committee and Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager.
The successful candidate will also be required to promote and develop partnership working between all agencies involved in the care and protection of adults at risk, ensuring that a person centred focus is developed and maintained.

The successful candidate will be a qualified social worker, registered with the Scottish Social Services Council, as well as holding substantial experience in Adult Protection.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
