The Council is committed to assisting people within the local area by providing the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge in the world of work through our Modern Apprenticeship Training Programme. Modern Apprenticeships (MAs) offer new and returning entrants to the labour market the chance of paid employment combined with the opportunity to do training relevant to the occupational area. They include the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications that help kick-start a career without having to study full-time. New entrants can include school and college leavers, those with no previous work experience, and/or vocational qualifications. You will be required to complete a 4 year apprenticeship in Joinery, passing all exams and standards required to qualify in this trade.

Applicants must be resident of the city of Edinburgh. (EH1-17, EH 28,29.30)

Applicants must have either left secondary education in the past three years or be intending to leave this year  or currently on a City of Edinburgh Council employability training programme or aged up to 29 with a disability or care experienced.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
