Dean Park Primary is a thriving non-denominational primary school which serves the village of Balerno, in the South West of Edinburgh. The primary school is currently organised into 19 classes at P1-P7 stages, and our nursery offers full-time spaces for up to 88 children.

A key strength of Dean Park is the strong community partnerships that we have built up over the years. We are very well supported by our local community and ideally situated to take advantage of the many resources that the local area provides. We enjoy excellent links with other educational providers in our community and work closely as a cluster. Dean Park also has a well-established Parent Council and PTA and benefits hugely from their active support of the school.

At Dean Park we pride ourselves on our nurturing, positive and inclusive ethos, and our team of dedicated staff strive to ensure equality of education, equity for our families and the opportunity for every child to flourish.

Dean Park’s Breakfast Club has capacity for 50 primary-age children, and offers a safe, warm and relaxed environment where pupils can enjoy eating a healthy breakfast and socialise with other children before the school day starts.

We are recruiting a Breakfast Club Supervisor to join our friendly team and support the safe delivery of our breakfast club service. In addition, you will be expected to undertake some light administration tasks associated with the running of Breakfast Club. Experience in working with children is desirable but is not essential.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
