Early Years Assistant - Fixed term until 28/6/2024
Craiglockhart Primary School Nursery
Salary: £23,651 - £23,857 per year (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 4 per week, 39 weeks per year
Craiglockhart Primary School Nursery Class comprises of full time children accessing 1140.
We welcome enthusiastic applications to join our exciting Nursery Team to continue to develop high quality learning through a child-led play approach and support the extension to our children’s day.
Hours will be: Monday 11am - 3pm
There may be some flexibility around the start/finish times which can be negotiated with the successful candidate, but the day is fixed.
Early Years Assistants are required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of starting employment. They are also required to achieve an SCQF Level 2 Social Services for Children and Young People qualification within 5 years of being registered with the SSSC and this is funded by the early years service. There will be an opportunity for those who wish to progress to SCQF Level 3 to receive funding for this.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
