Edinburgh Learns Development Officer - Digital
Waverley Court

Salary £53,997 - £58,314 per year
Hours: 35 per week

We are advertising an exciting opportunity for teachers passionate about the power of digital learning technologies, to work alongside the Quality Improvement Education Officer (Digital Learning) as part of the Edinburgh Learns Digital team, to help lead and support the ongoing development of digital learning across the city, particularly in relation to the Empowered Learning programme.

The Empowered Learning programme has provided a 1:1 digital learning solution for all learners from P6 to S6 and all teachers, with additional devices to support learners in P1 to 5 and in Early Years. The project has also enhanced network provision and capacity in all schools to ensure a reliable and resilient service for all.

The role of the Development Officers is significant and varied and involves creating and delivering a wide range of professional learning opportunities and resources, as well providing advice and support for school leaders, Digital Learning Coordinators and teachers in order to ensure that digital learning and teaching is effectively embedded across our schools, fully leveraging the potential of the Empowered Learning programme to all schools.

Successful applicants will work closely with the Quality Improvement Officer Education Officer (Digital Learning) and other Development Officers, as well as other colleagues within the Quality Improvement and Curriculum Service, more widely across the council, and with external organisations.

The role will also provide opportunities to develop skills with Apple and other external providers including the potential for Apple Professional Learning Specialist accreditation.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
