An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Centre position in a new Early Learning and Childcare within the Northwest of Edinburgh.
Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare is a new provision and will be part of the McMillan Hub in Craigroyston. It will provide Early Learning and Childcare to 185 children aged from birth to 5 years across multiple flexible spaces.
The McMillan Hub will also house Muirhouse Library and North Edinburgh Arts so there is a fantastic opportunity to work collaboratively and innovatively with these services. Providing opportunities for partnerships and creativity for users of the Hub will form a key part of the role of the successful candidate.
Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare is due for completion in early 2024 and the successful candidate will initially be appointed as Head of Centre for Craigroyston ELC, which will become part of Pennywell on completion of the new build. The engagement of stake holders will enhance the transition into Pennywell ELC and the community of McMillan Hub.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
