Broughton High School is a large well-equipped modern PPP school located in the Inverleith/Stockbridge area of North Edinburgh. The school provides co-educational, non-denominational comprehensive education for S1-S6 pupils. The new building opened in 2009 and incorporates three centres of excellence: the City of Edinburgh Music School, City of Edinburgh School of Dance and a SFA Football Performance School. We have excellent facilities including grass playing fields, 2G and 3G pitches, 2 dance studios and individual sound-proofed music practice rooms. We have 2 large games halls, a fitness suite, a Theatre, an Assembly hall and a large open plan Hub/Foyer area. The pupils who attend the school come predominantly from the four associated Primaries of Flora Stevensons, Granton, Ferryhill and Stockbridge.
We believe in enabling every young person to fulfil their potential as an individual and as a member of their wider community. Our staff are skilled, conscientious, and caring. Our three core values of Respect, Inclusion and Integrity contribute to our vision of enabling everyone to fulfil their potential as learners, individuals and members of the wider community. We emphasise the importance of excellent classroom practice and positive relationships, and we adapt our curriculum according to our students’ interests in ways that enhance their life chances.
The current pupil roll of the school is 1136.
