Job Description

Place

Quantity Surveyor
Waverley Court

Salary: £40,275 - £46,983
Hours: 36 per week

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to support delivery of an extensive Capital Investment programme across the Council’s entire existing housing estate of over 20,000 homes. The Council intends to deliver a large scale retrofit programme to meet Government Statutory targets on energy efficiency ratings and our own net zero carbon targets in addition to cyclic retrofit programmes.

Key responsibilities include planning, development and delivery of large scale retrofit programmes and programmes of fabric, mechanical and electrical across housing scheme areas including mixed tenure areas and complex building archetypes such as multi storey blocks and non-traditional buildings.

You will also provide robust financial management, risk management and contract management of external consultants and contractors and undertake a holistic approach by collaborating with other Council teams to ensure wider estate improvements, demolitions and new built homes are aligned.

You will support the Senior Team Manager to develop communications strategies, manage legal and procurement processes and promote investment in our Housing stock across the Council.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals from a social housing management or construction project management background who wish to develop their career in housing delivery and management within a friendly, busy and committed team. The team is hybrid working with the office base at Waverley Court.

If you enjoy new opportunities and challenges and have the skills to work as part of our team, we would love to hear from you.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
