Pupil Support Officer
Broughton Primary School
Salary: £24,890 - £28,854 per year (pro rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks sessional
Are you kind, patient, caring and passionate about helping children and young people disengaged from learning or experiencing difficulty in their lives? Do children and young people respond well to your support?
This is an exciting opportunity to be a Pupil Support Officer (PSO) with such attributes.
You role will be to help address the poverty related attainment gap.
Experienced PSAs or those who can demonstrate their experience working with children and their families are encouraged to apply. This role will involve supporting children with attendance, working with groups or individuals to improve literacy and numeracy skills and building trusting relationships with children and their families which may involve support in family homes and running/organising opportunities for family learning.
There will be training opportunities once in post.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
